As the UK votes to leave the EU, I thought I would share a few images celebrating successful business in the North West, West Midlands and Wales.
These companies are the backbone of the Northern Powerhouse and their local economies, and employ tens of thousands of people across the globe. They have chosen to invest in our regions and bring people from all over the country, and the world, to make their businesses successful on a national and international level.
Over the last few months I have met British weavers, Indian programmers, Rumanian warehouse operatives, Polish factory workers, Australian designers and printers, Spanish students, and teachers from New Zealand.
I have photographed Welsh water and Italian gear boxes, Cheshire pies and light bulbs manufactured on the Wirral.
We live in a globalized world of making and selling products, and of people moving to build better lives for themselves and their families. A wonderful world of amazing and interesting people contributing to the community and society where they make their homes.
May this trend continue and may the British learn to celebrate the diversity that improves all our lives.
I hope that the businesses that flourish in the regions can continue to get the staff they need, form wherever they currently live. That they can import raw materials and sell their products across Europe and the rest of the world.
Celebrate the successful businesses and thank the people who make them so, whether they are Polish, Rumanian, German, Chinese, Australian or British. Without them we would be a economically and culturally poorer.
